About Us
Formed in 1981 to meet the demand for conveyors built to customer's own requirements, the Company soon established itself as a leading UK supplier of all types of conveyors. In addition, it soon established itself as a major supplier of refurbished mobile and static screens, crushers and aggregate washing plants.
With the emergence of recycling in the 1990's, the Company developed its own range of mobile and static
"Hand Picking Conveyors"
which are available for 'hire' as well as 'sale'. It has been involved with numerous major UK recycling installations supplying new and refurbished screens, crushers as well as feed conveyors and handpicking conveyors. We also have reached agreement with two major UK manufacturers of fan/blowers and magnets to complement our recycling range. Since 2003 due to increased demand from 'recycling' customers, we have been able to supply full recycling installations including trommel screens and vibratory feeders, i.e. we have been able to offer the full package of feeders, trommels, handpickers, fan/blowers and magnets, with an advisory service and after sales service second to none. Testimonials on our installations are listed below.
In 1997 it took over the spares/service side of the
"Breakring VSI Crushers"
from Impact Technology Ltd., which established the Company in the involvement of the production of high quality aggregates. We are able to offer fully reconditioned units either static or mobile for hire/sale.
In 2005 we were approached by a major quarry concern to design and manufacture a
mobile blending plant
to produce a sand to specification and to colour to be provided to the tile manufacturer. The mobile blenders have now become an important part of our overall range and are now available for 'hire' as well as 'sale'.
In 2008 we he reached agreement with Aughey Plant International to distribute and service their established range of
static dry screens, washing plants and mobile conveyors
. This has enabled us to be able to compete and offer new quarry equipment as well as refurbished equipment at very competitive prices.
TESTIMONIALS
Premier Waste
Premier Waste Services (UK) Ltd recognised the fact that their current method of waste segregation needed to be improved with the advent of increases of costs to landfill, legislative requirements and customer perception
After many visits and research, we engaged Portable Conveyors Ltd to design and install a fully integrated waste picking station. From inception to completion Nick George and Portable Conveyors Ltd planned, designed and installed the plant and met all of our requirements and needs.
The investment has been more than a sound one, prior to installation our disposal to sales costs was running anywhere between 38% and 42% and I am pleased to say that the months after with guidance and help from Portable Conveyors Ltd has now reduced to 28.52% in June 2008.
Apart from the financial gains, we have certainly seen throughput increase by 60% compared to our previous method of waste handling. This has allowed Premier Waste to out source waste input to the plant and now enjoys highly profitable sales of third party input.
The major benefits are the end products that arise from the treatment of waste, i.e. cleaner inert, hardcore, wood, paper and card which enables us to source more lucrative routes for final disposal.
Portable Conveyors Ltd's commitment and after-sales promise to this end has not faulted and we have formed a partnership more than a client customer basis giving that assurance that if we have any issues they are dealt with promptly and professionally.
The intallation went very well and the installation team were very competent and professional, and gave added value.
In a nutshell, installing a picking station and the relationship between the two companies has certainly enhanced the growth and profitability of our company.
Charles Morris Fertilisers
With increases in landfill costs, Charles Morris Fertilisers approached Portable Conveyors Ltd to discuss their requirements for waste handling. Back in April 2007 a full recycling system was installed comprising 43/1200 Handpicker, 3/1200 Vibratory Feeder, 6/2000 Skid Mounted Trommel, 15kW Fan Blower, Overband Magnet and Control Panel providing them with up to 23 product separation.
Previous to the new plant installation we were recycling 40 tonnes of waste per day and now the throughput has increased 500%
We found the service that was provided by Nick George and all the staff at Portable Conveyors Ltd to be second to none, with the installation running smoothly and on time, we have a good relationship with Portable Conveyors Ltd and their after-sales services has never faulted with them keeping our downtime to a minimum.
Because we trust and have a good relationship with Portable Conveyors Ltd we did not hesitate to contact them recently to make improvements to one of our other sites, which they have now completed again very professionally and on time.

G Moore Haulage Ltd
We were approached by G Moore Haulage to evaluate their requirements for a new bespoke waste sorting system to handle up to 2,500 tonnes of waste per week.
